Our community has supported our award-winning schools with locally controlled funding that cannot be taken away by the state. Unless renewed, this source of funding is set to expire in the next school year.

The LASD Board of Trustees placed Measure GG, a $223 parcel tax renewal measure, on the November 2016 ballot. Measure GG renews expiring funding to preserve current levels for LASD and supports all local public school students, including those attending Bullis Charter School.

This funding—which is set to expire next school year—supports the core academics, highest quality teachers and classroom programs that keep our schools among the best. Measure GG allows a renewal of this funding and protects classroom programs like science, technology, engineering and math to ensure our students are prepared to compete in the 21st-century global economy.

Measure GG funding is dedicated to neighborhood schools, locally controlled and cannot be taken by the state.

Measure GG would continue funding that:

• Attracts and retains the highest quality teachers
• Maintains core academic programs
• Expands science, technology, math and engineering programs

Components of the Measure

• Measure GG funds would stay here in our local schools and could not be taken away by the state
• No funds could be used for administrators’ salaries or benefits
• Senior citizen homeowners are eligible for an exemption
• Measure GG would expire in eight years and could not be renewed without voter approval
• Measure GG would cost $223 per parcel per year, a $30 increase to provide $2.8 million annually in local school funding
