Sandra McGonagle Superintendent
The Superintendent is the chief executive officer of the school district and is responsible for overseeing and guiding the day-to-day operations of the district.
Sandra is currently the superintendent of the Los Altos School District. She is a passionate, student-centered educator with 20+ years of experience in public schools. Sandra is grounded in academic excellence for all, strong school communities, and deeply engaged students. Sandra spent 7 years as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction in LASD. Prior to that, she served as principal at both Santa Rita Elementary School and Blach Intermediate School. Sandra was a middle school teacher for many years before becoming a mentor for new teachers in the Cupertino Union School District. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and her Master's degree from San Jose State University. Sandra and her family live in San Jose. When not working, you can find her reading a good book, walking her dog, or cooking a feast for her family.
