Screen time before bed may delay sleep onset. Greater time spent watching TV, using the computer or playing video games before bedtime was associated with a later sleep onset among children and teens, New Zealand researchers found. A difference in screen sedentary time of just 13 minutes between the late sleep onset group and the early sleep group adds up to almost an hour of sleep during the school week, according to the study in the journal Pediatrics.
