David grew up on the West Coast of Scotland and moved to California in 2015 after marrying a high school English teacher (who works at Los Altos High School). He was so inspired by her students, he decided to change his career and go back to school to get his teaching credential at UC Santa Cruz. David has three wonderful children, two of whom live in California. David and his wife enjoy being outdoors, hiking, camping and kayaking whenever possible. Besides his love of the outdoors, David spends his time on anything creative, from cooking to working on house projects. In addition to teaching, David has a degree in Creative Writing and writes memoir, fiction, and poetry in his free time.
