My name is Julia Clawson and I love being a teacher in the Los Altos School District! I’m so fortunate to have spent my public school teaching career at Egan Jr High School. I grew up on an almond ranch in Hughson, California where the motto is: A Small Community, with a Big Heart! I graduated from the California State University, Fresno with a B.A. in Liberal Studies. After earning my credential, I spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic. There I worked in the Education Sector to train teachers, write curriculum and build schools. At Egan, I've taught a variety of subjects including US History, World History, Spanish Conversation, Journalism and Yearbook. My current teaching assignment is Photography and Broadcast Journalism, where we produce a news show that is broadcast each day to the Egan student body. Outside of work and school, I enjoy traveling, taking pictures and riding my motorcycle. I look forward to the new school year!
