This is my 4th year teaching Mandarin at LASD with the Egan team and I am still extremely excited! I believe in providing students with an abundance of learning opportunities through technology, music, and visual and performing arts. This is an engaging way for students to learn a foreign language. I also ensure to establish and maintain an optimal environment to support students with mutual respect and all students appreciate others’ differences, including cultures and individuals. I especially like the rigorous curriculum offered in order to provide life skills and real world application and that focuses on students’ individualized growth rather than comparisons to others. I grew up in Taiwan and after completing my undergraduate degree in China, I continued my studies in the USA, completing my M.A in Elementary Education at BU and a 2nd M.A. in TESOL and Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language at NYU. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, crafting, yoga and ballroom dance. I feel very blessed to be able to work this year at Egan and am looking forward to a new year of growing and fun!
