I come from a family of educators, so choosing a career in education was a natural choice and an important part of my family legacy. I also had incredible teachers that helped shape my views, self-concept, and my vision for my future. These positive influences inspired me to invest in education as a career and to offer students my energy and enthusiasm for learning. 

In many ways I am just a grown-up 13-year-old. I get how kids work and I like being around them. Teaching is incredibly hard work, but very rewarding. I believe that every student deserves a teacher who knows them well and helps them to see their potential and celebrate their growth. Relationships matter for students as much as rigorous, dynamic learning opportunities. When students confront a challenging task with the support of an adult who believes in them and will take the time to coach them, they will be successful. This is my commitment to the Egan community. I want each student to "Be Here, Be You, Belong."
