GreenTown Los Altos Walk or Wheel to School (WoW) 

The GreenTown Los Altos WoW! (Walk or Wheel) Program inspires kids to walk or ride to school while positively impacting their well-being. Santa Rita encourages all students (and staff!) to walk, ride or carpool to school on Wednesdays.

Neighborhood Walking Groups have been created so that groups of families or children can build community while walking to school. For more information on these groups, please contact the Walk To School Committee Chair or sign up here to get involved!

International Walk to School Day(s)

Walk to School Day was founded in 1997 as a way to bring community leaders and children together to build awareness for communities to be more walkable. Whether a community's concern is safer and improved streets, healthier habits, or the environment, Walk to School Day events are aimed at bringing forth permanent change to encourage a more walkable, bikeable America ñ one community at a time.

Santa Rita has a tradition of setting up Walking School Buses on International Walk to School Day. Parents sign up to lead a bus and students walk as a group on this special day.
